About the funding
The General Admission Festivals Program provides streamlined funding to small and/or emerging film festivals that are aimed at the general public.
Telefilm may raise the contribution above $5,000, to up to $15,000, depending on the number of applications and the funds available. Larger contributions may go to larger-scale festivals, festivals reflecting a regional representation, and festivals whose mandate is to showcase works by creators from communities supported through Telefilm’s Inclusion Initiatives. Applicants or organizing teams that run several festivals in a year can be funded for up to three festivals a year under this Program. The funding must cover direct expenses for the festival's programming, promotion, delivery and administration. Those costs must not also be paid by any other entity or program.
