Description:

This program supports one-time strategic projects or initiatives that make companies operating mainly in SODEC’s fields of activity more competitive in order to promote Quebec’s cultural industries and increase spinoffs.

Comments on Funding:

Assistance can reach up to 75% of the eligible expenses from the approved budget, up to a maximum amount of $750,000.

Eligibility:

Applicant companies must meet all of the following criteria:
1. Be a Quebec cultural company primarily operating in the fields of activity covered by SODEC — Quebec cultural companies whose projects are eligible for the Strategic Initiatives component of the Promotion and Distribution Assistance Program are encouraged to submit their applications in this component;
2. Have its headquarters and main establishment in Quebec:
a) The term “headquarters and main establishment” refers to the location where the center of decision-making is situated and where the true management of the company takes place;
3. Demonstrate that effective control of the company is predominantly held by Canadian citizens or permanent residents who have their tax residence in Quebec;
4. Have been in operation for at least two years or possess the appropriate professional experience. The term “company” encompasses for-profit companies, nonprofit organizations, cooperatives, or consortia formed by Quebec companies and sectoral associations of cultural companies.

Application Steps:

1. All requests must be sent through the secure electronic portal SOD@ccès.
2. By connecting to SOD@ccès, applicants must:
a) create their user profile if they are a new user or enter their access codes;
b) choose the program corresponding to their request, i.e. number 30-56-00 for this program;
c) complete the application form and upload all required documents.

3. Before submitting an application to the strategic project assistance program, applicants must contact a person responsible for the program to validate the eligibility of their business and their project by email at the address: multisecteurs@sodec.gouv. sth.ca.

Documentation Needed:

Applicants must prepare the documentation to transfer to SOD@ccès, including:
1. a declaration of the applicant company;
2. an Implementation plan;
3. a Budget grid;
4. an information on shareholders and directors.

Other Things to Note:

Please ensure that you attach all required documents to SOD@ccès. Documents must be compliant, complete, in force, dated and signed by the persons with the required authority, when required. Only complete and compliant applications will be analyzed. Applications that are incomplete by their submission deadlines will be declared inadmissible and must be resubmitted. Read the Info-SODEC about the processing of incomplete applications.
