Financial assistance for the conversion of a natural gas heating system to dual energy

Amount:

$ 6,000,000

Type:

Grant, Loan, Subsidy

Description:

The Bienergy component for the commercial and institutional sector (Bienergy CI) of the ÉcoPerformance program offers financial assistance for the installation of heating systems operating on bienergy (natural gas and electricity).

Buildings must be heated by natural gas (fossil or renewable). They must be for commercial, institutional, municipal use, or be multi-tenant buildings or mixed-use buildings.

Comments on Funding:

There are two possible paths to applying for financial aid:

In the simplified pathway , the program offers pre-established financial assistance based on equipment belonging to the pre-selected categories. It is capped according to the characteristics of the equipment on the list or according to a maximum amount linked to the pathway;
In the tailor-made pathway , the program offers financial assistance for equipment and other expenses not covered in the simplified pathway or to obtain assistance higher than the maximum amount provided by the latter for equipment not listed. For both courses, when it comes to reaching the maximum of 80 % financial assistance based on eligible expenses, the contribution granted through the program is calculated after deducting that of Hydro-Québec.

The accumulation of aid amounts from organizations other than Énergir and Hydro-Québec is not authorized.

Deadline:

Continuous Intake. No specific deadline was identified.

Eligibility:

To be eligible, you must be a company, or a group of companies, an institution, a municipality or an organization and own buildings with natural gas consumption of up to 500,000 m³ .
