Description:

The Feature Film & Television Production Grant provides financial support to eligible applicants for feature film and television productions that have secured a relevant market trigger or distribution agreement of fair market value.

There are two streams within this grant: Saskatchewan Stream and Service Production Stream.
This grant invests in television and feature film projects with commercial intent that shoot in Saskatchewan and/or employ Saskatchewan- based crew during production and post-production.

Comments on Funding:

Funding takes the form of grants of:
– up to 30% of all eligible Saskatchewan expenditures up to a maximum of $5,000,000 through the Saskatchewan Stream;
– 25% of all eligible Saskatchewan expenditures up to a maximum of $5,000,000 through the Service Production Stream.

For both streams, applicants might be eligible for the following bonuses (to a commitment not exceeding a maximum of 40% of eligible Saskatchewan expenditures for Saskatchewan Stream, or maximum of 35% for Service Production Stream):
– 10% frequent filming bonus (where applicants complete 3 or more eligible productions per year in Saskatchewan);
– 5% rural bonus (where majority production takes place a minimum 50km outside Regina or Saskatoon);
– 5% Saskatchewan post-production bonus (where majority post-production is taking place in Saskatchewan). This bonus applies to all of the eligible expenses, not just the eligible post-production expenses.

Eligibility:

Applicants must:

1. be Saskatchewan corporations;
2. be Saskatchewan individuals or residents;
3. be active practitioners in one of the creative industries identified under The Creative Saskatchewan Act (2013) (see general guidelines);
4. demonstrate their intention to earn their living within their chosen creative industry, as well as their ambition to grow their business beyond their current status;
5. be in good standing (defined in the Glossary) with Creative Saskatchewan in all respects;
6. be seeking financing for feature film and television productions;
7. be incorporated in Saskatchewan or incorporated federally and registered in Saskatchewan. The head office or principal place of business must be located in Saskatchewan, and substantial ownership control must remain with Saskatchewan residents.
