Description:

This industry-driven fund supports the market development activities of Manitoba production companies, independent distributors and writers at national and international markets. Production companies are also eligible to apply for up to two business trips, red carpet screenings, and/or award shows, where the primary activity of the producer will be focused on business meetings and market expansion.

Comments on Funding:

Funding takes the form of contributions and covers 100% of the maximum total of the actual eligible costs up to the amount approved by the jury.
The OSM payment covers the eligible expenses to a maximum of $1,500 for North American travel and $2,000 for international travel.

Eligibility:

Applicants must:
1. be eligible OSM members in good standing for a minimum of three months prior
to applying for funds (with a current membership and not in default). Membership must remain in
good standing for one (1) year following an Access Funds award. Exceptions may be made for
applications received in the first application window;
2. be established producers who are current OSM members (with a Professional+ or Production Company membership), with a minimum of one producer credit on a total of 60 minutes of nationally or internationally broadcast or screened projects;
3. be emerging producers who are current OSM members (with a Professional+ or Production Company
membership), with a minimum of one producer credit on a total of 30 minutes of regionally, nationally or internationally broadcast or screened projects, AND has established a mentorship relationship with an established producer who has agreed to assist in the market attendance preparation. A letter from the mentor, with a detailed support plan, must be included with the application;
4. be writers who are current OSM members (with a Professional+ membership), with a minimum of one hour of professionally broadcast or screened work.
5. be distributors who are current OSM membera (with a company membership), with at least two years’ experience distributing independent Canadian screen content in the international marketplace.

– For activities between October 1 and December 31: noon on September 15.
