Description:
The Agriculture and Bioindustrial program supports the development and advancement of technologies to reduce cost, increase productivity, enhance competitiveness and boost the value of agriculture and forestry commodities, and lower greenhouse gas emissions.
Comments on Funding:
1. The Program provides up to $500,000 per project and up to 75% of total project costs, with the remaining funding (cash or in-kind) coming from the applicant, project partners or other funding agencies.
2. Co-funding with other funding agencies is highly encouraged, and the program does not limit the amount of stacking towards other contributions. However, reliance on uncommitted funding could delay or hinder contracting with Alberta Innovates.
Continuous Intake
Eligibility:
Applicants:
1. must be:
a) small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), with fewer than 500 full-time employees and less than $50,000,000 annual gross revenue,
b) industry organizations,
c) research and development organizations,
d) post-secondary institutions, and
e) government research laboratories.
2. are not required to be based in Alberta but must demonstrate a clear value proposition for Alberta.
Projects that will be researched, piloted, demonstrated and/or implemented in Alberta with long-term Alberta impact will be prioritized.

Applicants must:
1. register on our online application portal, Smart Simple;
2. complete and submit the intake form.

2. a Full Proposal.

1. Applications are accepted on a continuous basis and will be assessed in two phases: Intake and Full Proposal.
2. This program is part of the Clean resources program.
