Description:

Intended for all those involved in the book and publishing industry, the Assistance Program for Book and Publishing Businesses aims to increase the production and distribution of Québec titles.

Eligibility:

Applicants must:
1. be companies that are accredited publishers and bookstores;
2. be those eligible for accreditation by the Ministry of Culture and Communications, in accordance with the standards and conditions defined by the Law on the Development of Quebec Companies in the Book Industry and the Regulations on Accreditation appended to the law;
3. be publishers or bookstores that have received a technical eligibility notice from the Ministry;
4. be publishers that are up to date in fulfilling the royalties owed to each of the published authors, in accordance with the contracts that bind them.

Application Steps:

1. All requests must be sent through the secure electronic portal SOD@ccès.
2. By connecting to SOD@ccès, applicants must:
a) create their user profile if they are a new user or enter their access codes;
b) choose the program number corresponding to the component for which they wish to submit an application (the program numbers are specified in the application submission guides);
c) complete the application form and upload all required documents.

Documentation Needed:

Applicants must prepare the documentation to transfer to SOD@ccès, including:
1. a declaration of the applicant company;
2. a completed Part 1 – Table of eligible book sales;
3. a completed Part 1 – Promotion expenditure grid;
4. additional documents, as listed.

Applicants must review the filing deadlines before submitting their applications.
