Description:

The Alberta Made Production Grant (AMPG) is a competitive grant program designed to provide funding to Albertan producers for projects with a minimum eligible Alberta spend of $50,000 and total production budgets less than $500,000 CDN. AMPG assists Alberta producers to develop Alberta content. It also helps them attract and maintain skilled labour by providing employment opportunities for emerging talent and established industry professionals.

Comments on Funding:

The grant covers 25% of eligible Alberta production costs to a maximum of $125,000. The program is competitive with a limited budget. Applications that most align with the intent of the program and ministry objectives will be awarded funding.
The Training and Mentorship Incentive, a top-up of up to $35,000 to the base AMPG, is available to support activities related to on-set training, job shadowing and mentorship.

Eligibility:

Applicants must:

1. Be an Alberta-based production companies owned at least 51 per cent by Albertans.
2. Be primarily engaged in film, television, and/or digital media production
3. Demonstrate their main activity is the creation of film or video production available for public viewing
4. Be incorporated and in good standing with the Alberta Corporate Registry
5. Be in good standing with the Alberta Media Fund
6. Have a minimum of $2 million general liability insurance prior to the first day of principal photography
7. Not be a broadcaster or distributor for the purposes of the AMPG program

2. Request access to set up an online profile prior to filling out an application. To set up a profile complete the Front Office Registration form and email it to registrationamf@gov.ab.ca for new applicants.
3. Submit application online thru GATE Front Office Online Grant Application System

1. A fully executed commercial license agreement and/or distribution agreement (PDF format)
2.AMPG Budget Form (EXCEL format)
3. proof of secured financing (PDF format)
4. other documentation as required.
