AICE: Market Access supports Alberta’s small-medium sized health-tech companies in achieving commercial progression and market access during the scaling and later validation phases. The Program supports small-to-medium sized enterprises (SMEs) and real-world testing sites (Testing Sites) in carrying out clinical trials, feasibility studies or real-world trials to fast-track commercial progression and market adoption.
AICE: Market Access Program supports Alberta-based health technology SMEs in conducting clinical or real-world trials, anywhere in the world.

Comments on Funding:

Funding takes the form of contributions of 50% of total eligible project costs up to $600,000 CAD per project, over a maximum term of 24 months.

Deadline: Continuous Intake

1. Applicants must be Alberta-based small- and medium-sized health technology innovation companies partnered with an independent clinical/user testing organization providing data and a potential buyer perspective, including

a) a company with fewer than 500 full-time employees and less than $50,000,000 annual gross
b) incorporated in Alberta AND/OR incorporated in another jurisdiction and extra provincially
registered in Alberta;
c) a General Partnership, Limited Partnership, or Limited Liability Partnership and registered in
d) exist as a corporate person, with up-to-date corporate filings; and are
e) an Alberta-based entity with an Albertan footprint, which is determined by a significant physical
and corporate operational presence in Alberta, appropriate Alberta ownership;
2. Ideal Applicants have:
a) validated technology that outperforms its direct and indirect competitors that is regulatory approved or ready (ITA/CTA) for clinical testing;
b) ownership or exclusive rights to the technology;
c) an experienced and well-rounded management team; and
d) acquired private investment and/or generating revenue from sales
