Alberta Media Fund: Alberta Made Production Grant (AMPG)

The Alberta Made Production Grant (AMPG) is a competitive grant program designed to provide funding to Alberta producers for projects with a minimum eligible Alberta spend of $50,000 and total production budgets less than $499,999 CDN. It offers a 25% grant on all eligible Alberta labour and non-labour expenses to a maximum of $125,000.

Comments on Funding:

1. The grant covers 25% of eligible Alberta production costs to a maximum of $125,000. The program is competitive with a limited budget. Applications that most align with the intent of the program and ministry objectives will be awarded funding.
2. The Training and Mentorship Incentive is a top-up to the base AMPG amount up to $35,000, or to a maximum of 7% of the total Alberta expenses for activities related to on-set training, job shadowing and mentorship.

Deadline: January 2 to 16, July 2 to 16

Applicants must:

  • be organizations primarily engaged in film, television, and/or digital media production. Applicants cannot be a broadcaster or distributor for the purposes of this project.
  • have a minimum of 51% Alberta ownership and be incorporated and in good standing with the Alberta Corporate Registry. Good standing refers to an annual return, and any other required documentation, being filed regularly when due.
  • be in good standing in all respects with the AMF by having no outstanding or overdue reporting documents in relation to any other grants received. Further, should an applicant have any outstanding disputes in this, or any other jurisdiction, the Minister reserves the right to reject their application.
