The Renewable and Alternative Energy Program supports Alberta’s transition to a low-carbon economy by investing in renewable and low-carbon electricity.
Renewable and Alternative Energy focuses on grid modernization, energy storage and electricity generation to support energy development from individual technology components to systems-level integration.

Comments on Funding:

Project funding can be up to and typically does not exceed $2 million per project from the Process. The continuous intake programs normally support 25 – 50% of total project costs, with remaining funding from other project partners and other funding agencies (including cash and in-kind support).

Deadline: Continuous Intake

Support is open to researchers, innovators, small and medium-sized enterprises, large companies and others who are seeing funding, expertise and/or sector leadership to advance technology development from TRL 3-7.
