Heritage Preservation Partnership Program (HPPP): Heritage Awareness Grants

The Heritage Awareness Grants support the delivery of interpretive and public engagement projects that preserve, interpret, and promote appreciation of Alberta’s history. Matching grants of up to $25,000 are available.

Comments on Funding:

1. Funding is a matching grant of up to $25,000.
2. Applicants are expected to contribute at least 50% of the total eligible project cost.

Deadline: First working day of February (annually)

Applicants must:

  • be individuals that reside in Alberta or have a permanent Alberta address;
  • be registered organizations in Alberta:
    a) non-profit organizations;
    b) corporations;
    c) municipalities;
    d) churches;
    e) schools and other educational institutions;
    f) First Nations;
    g) Metis Settlements.
    Ineligible applicants: provincial government departments and friends organizations associated with government owned or operated historic sites and interpretive centres.
