The Opportunity Calgary Investment Fund (OCIF) was created as a catalyst to attract investment, drive innovation, and spur transformative economic development in the city. OCIF offers financial support to private sector companies, non-profit organizations and public institutions proposing investments that drive economic growth, are a catalyst for further investments and create jobs for Calgarians.
OCIF has made a wide range of public and private investments that drive economic growth, job creation, and ecosystem development, positioning Calgary to lead digital transformation across key sectors.

Comments on Funding:

Funding is a non-repayable contribution up to 50% of the proposed project’s budget.

Deadline: Rolling deadline

The applicant:

  • must be registered to do business in Canada;
  • can be a locally, nationally or internationally based for-profit, non-profit or a public institution;
  • can be a partnership, although a lead applicant must be identified;
  • must be working on a project that:
    a) is located in Calgary;
    b) is catalytic and innovative;
    c) create economic benefits and jobs in Calgary.

Opportunity Calgary Investment Fund (OCIF) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the City of Calgary that is governed by an independent Board of Directors and administered by Calgary Economic Development.
