Description:

Publication grants support the production of print or digital publications that preserve, interpret, and promote appreciation of Alberta’s history.

Comments on Funding:

The maximum matching grant is $10,000 for books and $3,000 for brochures, pamphlets and booklets.

Deadline:

February annually

Eligibility:

Applicants must:

1. Be an individual that resides in Alberta or has a permanent Alberta address.
2. Have registered organizations in Alberta:
a. Non-profit organizations
b. Corporations
c. Church organizations
d. Schools and other educational institutions
e. Municipalities
3. Be a First Nations and Metis Settlements.

Application Steps:

Applicants must:

1. Review Guidelines for Heritage Awareness, Publication and Research Grants.
2. Email the Program Coordinator at carina.naranjilla@gov.ab.ca or call 780-431-2305 for more information.
3. Fill out a paper or PDF copy of the Heritage Awareness, Publication and Research Grant Application Form. When preparing the budget, you may use the template for Cash Costs and In-kind Costs (Donated Labour, Materials, Services, Equipment).
4. Drop off, mail, send by courier, or email your application package to:

Documentation Needed:

Applicants must submit:

1. For books: paper of electronic copy of the substantially complete manuscript
2. For brochures, pamphlets, booklets: paper or electronic copy of text with layout and photographs
3. Project plan
4. Project budget
5. Quotes or estimates for publishing and printing the book
6. Other supporting documents listed in the application form

Other Things to Note:

The annual application deadline is the first working day of February.

Successful applicants will receive the full amount of their grant upon initiation of their project.
