Alchemist Accelerator Investment Program

Amount:

no fixed amount

Type:

Investment, In-Kind Support

Description:

The Alchemist program accelerates the development of seed-stage ventures that monetize from enterprises. We provide founders with a seed investment and structured path to traction, customers, and fundraising through a community that endures well beyond the six-month program. Alchemist founders have some of the following additional program elements especially valuable:
1. an optional small cash investment on founder-friendly terms in the form most appropriate for your company (often a SAFE). We offset the programā€™s required ā€œtuitionā€ fee with additional investment capital;
2. exclusive credits and discounts from trusted Alchemist partners, including for cloud computing, legal fees, marketing, and other services;
3. permanent access to Alchemistā€™s exclusive network of mentors, investors, customers, and alumni.

Comments on Funding:

Funding will take the form of seed and small cash investments, credits and discounts. The average investment proceeds to the applicant’s company are $25,000 (net of the provided tuition fee offset). The aggregate value of credits and discounts is more than $450,000. The average value of perks used by most Alchemist companies is $175,000.
Alchemist will also request a single-digit grant of common equity or its equivalent, varying depending on the business.The accelerator may also ask for the right to invest a minority / non-threatening co-investment in the follow-on rounds. Most Alchemist companies grant 5.0% of equity, but Alchemist has flexibility on terms.

Deadline:

Rolling Deadline

Eligibility:

Applicants are companies which:
1. monetize from enterprises, regardless of business model (both B2B and B2B2C qualify);
2. have any product type, customer segment/size, and business model;
3. are at any stage, including those with substantial customer traction and investment;
4. are located anywhere in the world;

Alchemist will also accept solo founders. However, the bar for solo founders is significantly higher, given the difficulty of executing the vision before the applicant has assembled the founding team.

Application Steps:

Applicants must:
1. complete and submit the application form (the applicant may submit an application at any time, and Alchemist Accelerator will review it at the next application date);
2. attend the interview, if invited.

Documentation Needed:

No specific documentation has been identified.

Other Things to Note:

Alchemistā€™s next class begins on August 1st, 2024. Each Alchemist class runs for six months. Programming and events are optimized for time zones in California and Europe, though you may participate in Alchemist from anywhere in the world.

As most B2B2C examples are related to eCommerce, I added Retail as a second tag besides All. Businesses in any sector or industry can have a B2B2C business model.
