Description:

Société d’Investissement Jeunesse (SIJ) offers entrepreneurs aged 18 to 40 a loan of up to $150,000 to financially support their business projects. This component is intended for the entrepreneur to partner up with shareholders of an existing company.

Comments on Funding:

1. Funding will take the form of loans ranging from $50,000 to $150,000.
2. SIJ limits its financial contribution to 45% of the overall financial needs. Aggregate financial requirement is defined here as the total purchase price of common stock.

Eligibility:

Eligibility criterai:
1. Applicants must be:
a) 18 to 40 years old;
b) innovative technology companies that have been in operation for more than two years and demonstrate that it has successfully completed its start-up phase;
c) based in Quebec.
2. The qualifying entrepreneur will have to hold a substantial part of the ordinary share capital of the company, but not the majority.
3. The entrepreneur must submit his request for financial support to the SIJ before the closing of the transaction.
4. An entrepreneur is not eligible if he is already a shareholder of the company in question.
