Description:
The Food Producer Wage Subsidy Program provides support to primary food producers in the Basin. The program will provide flexibility to farmers to hire employees as needed throughout the 2025 growing and harvesting season. This program helps increase Basin residents’ access to locally grown, healthy food.
Comments on Funding:
Funding is 75% of an employee’s hourly wage up to a maximum of $15.40 per hour. The maximum
total subsidy a producer can apply for is $17,000.

Eligibility:
Applicats must be Primary food producers who grow grains, vegetables, fruit or forage or raise livestock for meat or dairy products. This temporary program is for food producers with farms and ownership located in the Columbia Basin Trust region.

Documentation Needed:
Applicants must submit:
1. electronic copy of your Statement of Farming Activities (T2042) or corporation income statement for 2023 and 2024 (if available) and
2. WorkSafeBC Compliance Letter (unless not yet covered by WorkSafeBC)
