BC Hydro Peace Agricultural Compensation Fund: Farming Infrastructure

The BC Hydro Peace Agricultural Compensation Fund was established to provide support to Peace Region agricultural producers, industry associations and other eligible non-profits to support the region’s opportunity for agricultural production and agrifoods economic activity.
Applicants may apply for funding from three different categories: Events and Educational Initiatives, Farming Infrastructure (fixed capital or non-fixed capital), and Research and Demonstration Initiatives.

Deadline: January 19, 2024 August 30, 2024

Applicants must be:

  • Corporations / cooperatives / individuals and/or partnerships active in agriculture in the Peace Region;
  • Education institutions undertaking research directly related to the Peace Region;
  • Non-profit agricultural organizations in the Peace Region;
  • Peace Region industry associations / agencies / boards /councils.

Other Things to Note:

As part of the Site C Agricultural Mitigation and Compensation Plan, BC Hydro is establishing a $20 million fund to support agricultural production and related economic activity in the Peace Region. The fund is governed by a board of directors that broadly represent the agriculture industry in the Peace Region, administered by Northern Development Initiative Trust and overseen by BC Hydro.
