The Job Development Wage Subsidy assists employers who provide training and/or work experience to unemployed individuals with wage costs.

Eligible sponsors or employers must be:

  • Aboriginal Bands/organizations;
  • Aboriginal small business and/or corporations.
    Eligible clients must be:
  • those who are currently unemployed & did not quit a job to participate on this project.
  • those requiring new skills or an upgrading of existing skills to be able to access employment in the current labour market.
  • those who are unemployed with skills required to meet the community project requirements.
  • students that are coming from and returning to school of full time studies.

Other Things to Note:

Okanagan Training & Development Council (OTDC) Service Areas consist of six band memberships; Okanagan Indian Band, Westbank First Nation, Penticton Indian Band, Osoyoos Indian Band, Upper Similkameen Indian Band and Lower Similkameen Band. OTDC also manages a West Kootenay Service Area.
