Description:

The Queen’s Entrepreneurs’ Competition (QEC) is organized as an opportunity for entrepreneurs of the day to acquire the sources they need to jump start the future. QEC is Canada’s most prestigious undergraduate startup competition. It has been trailblazing and innovating in Canada and around the world for 35 years.

Comments on Funding:

Participants have the opportunity to compete for over $100,000 worth of monetary prizes to fund winning ventures, as well as in-kind services such as consulting sessions from reputable companies and venture capital firms to guide winning teams

Eligibility:

Applicants must:
1. be undergraduate students with ventures in the idea or growth stage;
2. be students from around the world to pitch their businesses to a judging panel of industry professionals and venture capitalists.

Application Steps:

1. Applicants must submit online their application to submissions@theqec.com;
2. Round 1: Applicants must submit a 3-5 page business plan, and an optional 5 minute recorded presentation;
3. Round 2: The top 15 ventures pitch their business to a panel of judges in Toronto on day 1. The top 6 will pitch to a larger panel on day 2, competing for over $100K in prizes.)

Documentation Needed:

Applicants must submit all documents to submissions@theqec.com, including:
1. Business plan document;
2. YouTube link to video pitch (optional);
3. Document Used for Presentation in Video Pitch, if applicable.
Business plans are only to be submitted via e-mail. If a participant has an issue with this, they must contact their respective competitor coordinator (contact information is available on www.theqec.com/competitors) to discuss other submission arrangements. Under these circumstances, business plans must be submitted one week earlier to accommodate alternative submission methods.

Other Things to Note:

The deadline has passed to apply for QEC’s 2024 competition. The event for QEC 2024 is scheduled from January 11-13, 2024.
