Description:

The Business Idea Competition aims to stimulate the entrepreneurial spirit among students at the University of Quebec at Chicoutimi and colleges in the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region. It aims to encourage students to develop and present a business idea to experts in the field and represents a unique opportunity for participants to validate the potential of their idea.

Comments on Funding:

The prizes total $1,200 and are awarded in the form of scholarships according to the following distribution:
1. University:
– 1st prize: $400.
– 2nd prize: $200.
2. College:
– 1st prize: $400.
– 2nd prize: $200.

Eligibility:

Eligibility criteria:
1. Applicants must:
a) be students or graduates under the age of 5 from the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi or from one of the 4 colleges in the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean region.
b) accept that the title of the winning business idea may be made public.
2. The idea must not be linked to a business already in operation.
3. The idea presented must not be realized or in the process of being realized; it must remain an idea. It is not mandatory to go into business as a result of this competition. It’s the idea that counts!

Application Steps:

Applicants must fill out the Registration Form.

Documentation Needed:

Applicants must submit a Registration form and document, of a maximum of 4 pages, presenting the following .oter(s);
2. Introduction;
3. Relevance of the idea;
4. Definition of product or service;
5. Target clientele and/or territory;
6. Competitive advantages (what differentiates you from the competition);
7. Project benefits (financial, social, ecological, etc.).
NB: The idea must demonstrate that it is feasible in the short term and that it meets a need.

Other Things to Note:

Only the name of the project will be disclosed. The idea presented will remain confidential.
