Description:
Businesses can apply for grants to increase the efficiency of their natural gas steam or hot water boilers. More efficient boilers generate more heat, consume less natural gas, and ultimately emit less greenhouse gas. This results in cost savings for the businesses and benefits for the planet.
Comments on Funding:
1. Funding is a grant of up to $340,000 in grants per boiler.
2. The four measures for optimizing steam or water boilers systems eligible for the grant are:
a) Installing an economizer;
b) Installing a micromodulation system;
c) Installation of an O2 probe;
d) Installing thermal insulation on equipment and accessories.
Continuous Intake
Eligibility:
Applicants must be Énergir’s current or future customers who:
1. operate in the commercial, institutional, industrial or multi-unit housing (4 or more dwellings) sectors business line;
2. use a steam or hot water boiler system.
Application Steps:
Applicants must:
1. refer to Form I – Conditions and Declaration of Intent for detailed and complete information on the program and each action item;
2. complete Form I and send it to efficaciteenergetique@energir.com before the work begins;
3. wait until the receive an email from Énergir confirming that they are eligible;
4. complete the work outlined in their application.
Documentation Needed:
Applicants must submit:
1. a completed Form I — Conditions and Declaration of Intent (Before Work Starts);
2. a completed Form II — Steam Boiler System Calculator and Request for Payment (After the Work);
3. a completed Form II — Hot Water Boiler System Calculator and Request for Payment (After the Work).
