Description:

QyourVenture is a virtual part time program that guides participants’ entrepreneurial journey in a tiered program that unlocks new opportunities and resources at each stage. QyourVenture helps students and community members turn their idea, technology, or inspiration into a venture.

Comments on Funding:

Access to seed funding from exclusive pitch competition, and micro-grants:
– eligible for $250 seed funding in Ignite Phase;
– eligible for $500 seed funding in Launch Phase.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be community members, students from any faculty, and ventures in any sector, including not-for-profits.

Application Steps:

Applicants interested in joining Qyour Venture must:
1. complete the Pre-Work:
a) Read and complete: Book Chapter: Where Do I Start?
b) Read and Complete: Workbook Chapter: A Practical Guide to Primary Market Research
2. submit the pre-work to DDQIC, and send via email at innovation.centre@queensu.ca and complete the following statement: I will offer/produce [what] that will [address what problem or improve some condition] for [who would want to buy or use this product service].
3. attend a group on-boarding meeting:
a) Let’s start building that community! A group on-boarding meeting will be scheduled with applicants and others interested in the QyourVenture program.
b) On-boarding meetings scheduled bi-weekly on Thursday’s at 10AM (EST).

Participation in QyourVenture is free and no equity is taken in applicants’ business in exchange for participation.
QyourVenture prepares the applicants well to pitch for seed funding for their venture in the DDQIC Regional Pitch Competition series.
