The Hatchery NEST is University of Toronto (U of T) engineering-based process, with more than 94 startups launched since its creation. It is an experiential learning opportunity that instills and nurtures the entrepreneurial mindset in all U of T students and faculty. In the Hatchery’s unique environment, students experience the successes and failures of the entrepreneurial journey within a challenging yet supportive setting.

Comments on Funding:

Teams have the opportunity to pitch their startups to a panel of entrepreneurs, investors and mentors on Demo Day, for seed funding.

Applicants must be current students of the University of Toronto.

Application Steps:

Applicants (Teams) must submit a completed application online.

Documentation Needed:

Applicants must provide:
1.Tax Returns/Financial Statements (Past 3 years);
2. Marketing Plan;
3. Resume of principals and key management;
4. Details and firm quotes where applicable;
5. Business Plan;
6. Details of major assets (land, buildings, equipment);
7. Cash flow estimate, monthly year 1, annually years 2 & 3;
8. CRA notice of assessment (most recent);
9. List of accounts receivable and payable;
10. Personal net worth statements (each owner or shareholder).
