Agricultural Clean Technology Program – Adoption Stream

Description:

The Adoption Stream supports the purchase and installation of commercially available clean technology or equipment upgrades that will reduce greenhouse gas (GHG), fertilizer and methane emissions.

The new intake will be more ambitious in terms of reducing GHG emissions and will also emphasize support for measurable fertilizer and methane emission reductions in line with Government of Canada targets. Where possible, project submissions will be prioritized according to higher GHG, fertilizer or methane emission reductions.

Comments on Funding:

The Adoption Stream intake will provide non-repayable contributions in the range of requests of $25,000 up to $2 million per project. Contributions toward eligible costs will generally be shared between AAFC and you as follows:

AAFC — a maximum of 40%
You — a minimum of 60%
The Adoption Stream may provide an additional 10% on the cost-share ratio (AAFC — 50% : You — 50%) where the majority of the business (more than 50%) is owned by one or more under-represented groups. Under-represented groups include:

Indigenous Peoples
Youth, aged 35 or under
Women
Visible minorities
Persons with disabilities
2SLGBTQI+
You must provide an attestation of your eligibility to be considered for the favourable cost-share.

Your portion of the cost-share must be cash contributionsEndnote1. In-kind contributions are ineligible.

Eligibility:

Applicants must:

1. Be a for-profit organization
2. Be a Canadian entity and/or incorporated in Canada
3. secured your portion of financial contributions for the project, per the cost-share ratios, before applying
4. Have not previously received funding from the Adoption Stream
5. Submit only one application (including subsidiaries) over the life of the program (2021-2026)
6. Have project activity(ies) eligible under the program
7. Be a legal entity capable of entering into legal binding agreements

Application Steps:

Applicants must:

1. Complete and send the form(s) and proof of financing
a. Download the application form (PDF) and Signature of Applicant Authorized Representative Form (PDF) (if you’re not e-signing the application form)
b. Complete and save the form(s) on your computer
c. Get your Proof of Financing (such as term sheets (from Financial Institutions or other government program funding agreements), confirmation of debt or equity closing and funds availability, bank statements (to verify cash availability for the project), or Attestation from Financial Institution of the amount of project funds availability (can include letters)
d. Attach your completed forms and proof of financing documents to an email then send them to aafc.act-a-p3-tpa-a-p3.aac@agr.gc.ca

2. Required: Financial statements (not required for those applying as Individuals)
3. Required: Quotes, estimates and contracts
4. If applicable: Environmental Farm Plan Certificate
5. If applicable: Project endorsement/Letter of Support
6. If applicable: Diagram of your organizational chart and corporate structure
