AgriScience Program – Projects
The AgriScience Program, under the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership (Sustainable CAP), provides funding and support for pre-commercial applied science and research and development activities to find solutions to sector challenges and accelerate innovation in the Canadian agriculture and agri-food sector.
Projects component — supports a single project or a smaller set of projects that would be less comprehensive than a Cluster.

Amount
Up to $5 million per project and $10 million per applicant over the program's duration (2023 to 2028); AAFC a maximum of 50% of eligible costs (up to 70% for eligible not-for-profits with GHG reduction or carbon sequestration projects); total government funding cannot exceed 85% of total project funding

Who can apply
The program ends March 31, 2028. Projects must be completed by this date.
M-30 Act (Quebec organizations only)
The Province of Quebec's M-30 legislation may apply to Quebec-based applicants only. It is the Act Respecting the Ministère du Conseil exécutif (R.S.Q., c. M-30).

All Quebec-based organizations will have to address this matter and demonstrate their compliance with the act during the application assessment process, and prior to entering into a contribution agreement.
About the funding
Support is available in the form of non-repayable contributions and/or collaborative support from Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) research scientists.
You may apply for one of three options:
non-repayable contribution funding (referred to as Vote 10 at AAFC) for research activities conducted by industry
collaborative research and development support (referred to as Vote 1 at AAFC) for research performed by AAFC scientists
both (Vote 10 and Vote 1)
