Description:

This Aquatic Invasive Species Prevention Fund supports efforts that will help prevent the introduction and spread of aquatic invasive species.

Priority will be given to projects to focus on:
improving relationships with provinces and territories, Indigenous Peoples and key stakeholders
involving multiple partners
providing Canadians with tools to take action on aquatic invasive species
monitoring and prevention of aquatic invasive species

Eligibility:

The applicants must be:

1. Indigenous
a. Indigenous organizations, governments, boards, commissions, communities, associations and authorities, including:
i. Indigenous Communities, bands and settlements
ii. District councils, chiefs’ councils or tribal councils
iii. Indigenous associations, organizations or societies
iv. Indigenous fisheries

Corporations
Co-operatives
vi. Partnerships or aggregations of Indigenous groups
vii. Bodies or entities established by rights-holding communities to represent them
viii. Indigenous scholars associated with organizations, governments, boards, commissions, communities, associations or authorities
ix. Service providers working with Indigenous organizations in fish and fish habitat (mandated by Fisheries and Oceans Canada)
