Description:

The Customs Bonded Warehouse Program defers the payment of customs duties on imported goods into Canada until they are sold in the Canadian market. If imported goods are exported directly from the customs bonded warehouse, no customs duties are payable.

Application Steps:

Applicants must complete and submit Form E401: Application for Licence to Operate a Customs Bonded Warehouse using the CBSA Assessment and Revenue Management (CARM) Client Portal .

Other Things to Note:

In most cases, you must remove goods you import under the Customs Bonded Warehouse Program within four years of the date they were imported into Canada. There are provisions for extending this period when the CBSA agrees it is necessary.
