We partner with Canadian companies that are well-positioned for international growth and aligned with EDC’s strategic priorities. We typically invest in companies that have:
- Annual revenue between $10 million and $1 billion
- A strong competitive advantage and proven business model
- A clear plan for international growth
- Market-standard investment attributes and risk profile
We invest across key sectors, including digital industries, advanced manufacturing, agri-food, energy and energy transition, critical minerals and cleantech.
Does my business need to have an international presence to receive investment?
We focus on helping Canadian companies increase their share of international business opportunities. If your company doesn’t yet have an international presence, but the funds you raise will directly support the creation of an international strategy, you may still be eligible for an investment.
Can EDC invest in earlier-stage companies?
Yes, selectively through co-investment if the company has commercial revenue and is in a priority sector, like cleantech, or advancing strategic objectives, like inclusive trade. Ask your lead investor to contact EDC.
