Enabling Accessibility Fund: Mid-sized Projects Component

Description:

The mid-sized projects component gives funding for larger construction projects. These projects must offer a suite of programs and services to include persons with disabilities in:
– their communities, and
– the labour market.

Comments on Funding:

Funding amount: Between $500,000 and a maximum of $3,000,000 for a project that is up to 2 years in duration

Eligibility:

Applicants must be one of the following:
1. not-for-profit organizations whose mandate is to exclusively serve persons with disabilities (as defined in the leveraging section);
2. for-profit organization with up to 99 full-time equivalent employees whose mandate is to serve or hire persons with disabilities;
3. small municipalities of less than 50,000 in population, as per the 2021 census, offering more than one program and/ or service targeted for persons with disabilities;
4. Indigenous organizations offering more than one program and/or service targeted for persons with disabilities;
5. organizations located in the Territories and remote and rural regions offering more than one program and/or service targeted for persons with disabilities;
6. territorial governments.

Application Steps:

1. Applicants should utilize the Grants and Contributions Online Services (GCOS) to submit their applications.
2. In the event that an applicant does not possess a GCOS account, it is advised to create one at the earliest convenience. Registration for a GCOS account is a prerequisite for applying for funding. Please be aware that post-submission of the application, the completion of the GCOS account registration is required to achieve fully registered user status, a process that could span up to two weeks.

Documentation Needed:

Applicants will be prompted to upload various supporting documents into the GCOS application.
