Description:

The initiative provides non-repayable contributions directly to eligible professional performing arts organizations to support projects that contribute to the financial sustainability and growth of the performing arts sector across the Prairies.

Eligibility:

Applicant must be:

1. a not-for-profit professional performing arts organization or equivalent Indigenous Peoples’ organization located in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, or Alberta that meets all the criteria below:
i. incorporated organization operating with a mandate to create, produce, and perform works in the professional performing arts
ii. registered and operating as a non-profit arts entity
iii. have a board of directors overseeing operations
iv. have internal or external oversight of the organization’s finances and produce annual financial statements
v. employ a paid artistic director, or equivalent
vi. pay artist fees at established national standards for the artistic discipline(s) and practice(s) in which you operate
2. have disseminated the work you created and produced through at least 5 years of continuous professional programming that is accessible to the public and offered as a subscription or member series
3. normally have an annual revenue of $1 million or more from the previous fiscal year or as an average of the last two fiscal years

Documentation Needed:

Applicant must submit:

1. Expression of interest (EOI)
2. financial statements for the past two years, as well as interim financial statements for at least the last six-month period
3. identification of other funding sources where applicable
completed PPAI Supplemental Form for Diversity and Inclusion (if applicable); and
4. other supporting documentation (e.g. business plan, pitch deck) detailing your organization and details about the proposed project
