Canada Green Corps: Science and Technology Internship Programme (STIP)

The Science and Technology Internship Programme (STIP) is a wage subsidy programme designed to elevate or create green careers for youth in Canada in the natural resource sector.

Comments on Funding:

Funding is a wage subsidy of up to 80%, to a maximum of:
- $19,000 for Job Ready Youth;
- $21,500 for Youth from Employment Equity Groups (YEE);

Deadline: Continuous Intake

Employers must provide new jobs for youth in the natural resources sector, particularly in the fields of energy, forestry, mining, earth sciences and clean technologies.
All internships must be new recruits (some exceptions may apply).

Interns must:

  • be youth (15-30 year old) with no minimum education required;
  • be Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada under the Immigration and Refugee protection act;
  • be legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations;
  • not be a full time student or co-op;
  • be unemployed or underemployed.

1. The United Nations Association (UNA) in Canada is Natural Resources Canada's delivery partner.
