Description:
The GAN Xcelerate Fund (GXF) is a fund of $300,000 set up as a limited partnership of 16 GAN members that will invest up to $30,000 in 10 start-up companies over 2 years.

Eligibility:
Applicants must:
1. be startup companies in the Barrie, Simcoe, Grey, Muskoka ecosystem;
2. be “Angel Ready” in 6 – 12 months;
3. demonstrate a product that provides a solution to a painful problem, with a large addressable market;
4. provide a technology-based transformation of processes, products or services in the food, agricultural, manufacturing, consumer products, environmental and business process sectors;
5. have unique, high-quality deal flow to GAN for angel investment: strong founders, transformational product, well developed plans and a large addressable market;
6. have founders who appreciate the mentoring and support of their initial investors;
7. provide high ROI for high-risk pre-angel investment.
Application Steps:
1. Applicants must initially send their applications using the online Term Sheet form.
2. After reviewing their presentation, the applicants will undergo a screening call (they will be contacted and they have to answer some follow-up questions).
3. Following the screening call, they may be invited to present to Selection Committee. They will have 20 minutes to make their presentation, and an additional 10-15 minutes for questions. They will be advised within 7 days, as to whether there was sufficient interest to warrant further discussion and due diligence.
4. During due diligence, GXF will verify the information contained in their presentation. They will be required to actively facilitate this process, and provide access to founders, information and outside parties to expedite a final investment decision.
Documentation Needed:
Once they submit their initial application, applicants must upload their power point presentation of no more than 15 pages to GFX dropbox, following the outline of application presentation.

Older:
GXF will be investing in 5 companies during each of 2019 and 2020. The deadline for 2022 was announced in January 2022.
