Description:

The Support for Initiatives: Custom-made project component program subsidizes measures involving the use of natural gas in production processes, high-efficiency equipment not covered by existing Gazifère programs and measures involving building mechanical systems.

Comments on Funding:

Gazifère is offering $1 per cubic metre of natural gas saved, up to 40% of the incremental cost of the measure or $75,000.

Eligibility:

This program is for Gazifère commercial customers (Rate 1) whose main source of energy for heating is natural gas.

Application Steps:

Applicants must:
1. organize a feasibility study or an energy simulation;
2. consult the participant’s guide for the support for initiatives program (new building or existing building);
3. send Gazifere their pre-admission application along with the summary of the measures to be implemented;
4. wait for Gazifère’s approval;
5. organize the implementation of the energy efficiency measures;
6. submit their request for participation.

Documentation Needed:

Applicants must submit the following documents:
1. A copy of the feasibility study;
2. A copy of the energy simulation, if applicable, in electronic format;
3. The Proposed measures form (PDF);
4. A copy of the invoice for any newly acquired equipment, along with photos of the installed equipment and its rating plate.

Other Things to Note:

1. Gazifère is a private corporation employing 110 people, and a subsidiary of Enbridge Inc. Established in the Outaouais region in 1959, Gazifère is one of two distributors of natural gas in Quebec. Serving more than 43 500 residential, commercial, institutional and industrial customers, Gazifère owns and operates a 1 000 km gas supply system.
2. With a franchise effective until 2031, Gazifère serves the broad expanse of land between Fort-Coulonge, Montebello and Grand-Remous. The company currently supplies all five sectors of the city of Gatineau as well as the municipality of Chelsea.
3. Please note that in the case of a new building, Gazifère only pays the financial assistance after the meter becomes operational and the heating equipment has passed inspection.
