MNO’s Métis Self-Employment Program offers participants the skills and support necessary to develop a business plan, start a small business, and sustain their business activities. The Program also provides funds and support to assist clients with mentorship, coaching, and ongoing technical advice.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be:
1. unemployed Metis individuals;
2. under-employed Metis individuals;
3. whose employment is at risk due to labour market changes, insufficient employment skills, or certification.

4. Support is available for new businesses and existing businesses that are struggling to remain viable.
5. For existing businesses support and training can be provided to help to ensure the viability of the business by helping with marketing, technology, and training costs.
6. Businesses can be sole proprietorship or partnerships. In the case of a partnership the applicant must own at least 50% of the business and should be able to make a minimum 25% investment in the business in either cash or equity.
