Description:

Start@UTIAS and the Univerity of Toronto (U of T) Entrepreneurship Hatchery have formed an alliance to provide UTIAS (University of Toronto Institute for Aerospace Studies) students, including alumni, an effective program to create a startup business. It is a process designed for UTIAS students or recent graduates with the goal of feeding into either the NEST or LaunchLab stream.

Comments on Funding:

Funding is up to $10K for the first 60 days task. Additional funding based on merit will not exceed $50K over a 12 month period (extensions may be granted on a case by case basis).

Deadline:

Applications are closed. Stay tuned for future intake announcements.

Eligibility:

1. Applicants (Teams) must have 2 – 5 co-founders with a at least 1 UTIAS member;
2. UTIAS member can be a recent graduate within 2 years;
3. Current Graduate students must have supervisor’s permission/support;
4. Exceptions to the above will be discussed on a case by case basis.

Application Steps:

Applicants must submit a completed application online.

Documentation Needed:

Applicants must provide their companies’ information, including:
1. Assessment of Ownership;
2. Problem Statement;
3. Solution Uniqueness; and
4. Perceived Competition (Incumbent Solution).

Second Application Deadline: Nov 30th – 11:59pm
