Description:

A CanNor contribution administered by MDDF, the Entrepreneurship and Business Development Fund (EBD) funding can be paired with other financing to help Indigenous businesses with expansion, capital acquisition and marketing and planning.

Comments on Funding:

1. Funding takes the form of grants of up to $99,999 for privately owned Indigenous companies and up to $249,999 for community owned businesses.
2. MDDF will provide EBD for 75% of the costs with the client picking up the remaining 25% as their “equity” portion in the project.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be:
1. Majority-owned and controlled Indigenous businesses.
2. Community-owned businesses (usually through the band’s development corporation).

Application Steps:

Applicants must download the following fillable PDF forms and complete them using Adobe Acrobat Reader, which can be emailed directly to admin@mddf.ca.

Documentation Needed:

Applicants must provide:
1.Tax Returns/Financial Statements (Past 3 years);
2. Marketing Plan;
3. Resume of principals and key management;
4. Details and firm quotes where applicable;
5. Business Plan;
6. Details of major assets (land, buildings, equipment);
7. Cash flow estimate, monthly year 1, annually years 2 & 3;
8. CRA notice of assessment (most recent);
9. List of accounts receivable and payable;
10. Personal net worth statements (each owner or shareholder).
