Description:
IESO’s Save on Energy Industrial Energy Efficiency Program (IEEP) supports industrial customers across Ontario in improving their industrial processes and implementing system optimization projects. The program offers organizations up to $5 million in financial incentives for each large, complex industrial energy-efficiency project accepted into the program.

Eligibility:
Applicants must:
1. be owners and/or operators of an industrial facility located in Ontario;
2. be third-party applicants with the authority to implement a project at an industrial facility located in Ontario;
3. have the following eligible projects:
a) involving an energy-efficiency improvement applied to, or in support of, an industrial process;
b) proposing a minimum electricity savings of 2,000 MWh per year (which must represent a reduction of at least 15 per cent of the baseline electricity use of the relevant industrial process);
c) using technology that is commercially available and not excluded by the program eligibility rules.
Application Steps:
1. Applicants must log in to the IEEP Portal to submit their Stage 1 application, and create an account if they do not currently have one.
2. The IESO will review their application for eligibility.
3. The IESO will inform participants of the eligibility status of their applications.
4. For those participants whose applications have been deemed eligible, they have to submit their completed Stage 2 application and supporting documents through the IEEP Portal before the indicated deadline.
Documentation Needed:
Applicants must submit the completed Application Form and the Program Declaration Form.
Other Things to Note:
The latest funding window will remain open until March 2024.
Prospective participants should submit their initial application following the steps outlined in the “How can I apply” section below. The IESO will review each application for eligibility. Following this review, eligible applicants will be invited to submit a detailed proposal with a Measurement and Verification (M&V) Plan by March 29, 2024. The IESO will then notify successful applicants by the end of Q2 2024 and move to form a Participant Agreement.
