Description:

The Inuktut Versioning Fund For Existing Program is an initiative to provide support for the versioning of existing programming of relevance to Nunavut into Inuktut, either Inuktitut or Inuinnaqtun.

Comments on Funding:

Funding will take the form of a grant of 33% of the cost of versioning up to a maximum grant of $10,000 per project payable as follows:
– 50% upon approval and execution of a Contribution Agreement;
– 50% upon receipt of a signed final cost report and a copy of the program.

Eligibility:

The applicant must:
a) be a Nunavut company incorporated pursuant to the laws of the Territory of Nunavut or Canada which is owned by a majority (51% or more) by Nunavut residents;
b) be a Nunavut company with a head office in Nunavut;
c) hold distribution rights for Inuktut version of the program to be versioned for the Territory of Nunavut;
d) have a guarantee of the distribution and/or broadcast of the program within the Territory of Nunavut.

Application Steps:

Applicants must apply online. If they prefer hardcopy application, email a completed application to pm@nunavutfilm.ca.

Documentation Needed:

Applicants must supply as part of their applications the following:
1. a completed and signed application form;
2. a detailed budget and financing plan;
3. a copy of the distribution contract or license agreement granting distribution rights to the applicant to the Inuktut version of the program within Nunavut;
4. a copy of the program to be versioned. In the case of a series only one episode is necessary;
5. a copy of the Applicant’s Certificate of Incorporation;
6. a completed and signed Certificate of Officer (Schedule A).
