Description:

Export Development program provides reimbursement to eligible Manitoba companies participating in a tradeshow or mission outside the province. This will assist companies to enter new markets, and provide opportunities for education, market assessments, developing relationships, contacts and sales.

Comments on Funding:

Applicants may receive reimbursement of up to:

1. 50% on eligible expenses for exhibiting in a tradeshow or participating in a business mission with a business-to-business meeting component, outside of Manitoba
2. 30% on eligible expenses for participating, but not exhibiting, in a tradeshow outside of Manitoba; companies 3. must have a clear objective for attending and a business agenda developed
4. available for up to two (2) representatives per company per event

Eligibility:

Applicants must:
1. be a for-profit small or medium-sized enterprise in Manitoba that produces an exportable product or service
2. have annual revenue in the current or previous fiscal year of at least $100,000, to a maximum of $50 million
3. have more than 50% of its workforce currently residing in Manitoba
4. be registered and in good standing to do business in Manitoba with the Companies Office and have a permanent establishment in Manitoba
5. must hold an active and valid Business Number
6. participate in a business-to-business event; direct to consumer events are ineligible for funding under this program
7. not be in arrears for taxes owing to Manitoba and must not be in receivership
8. be in full compliance with government laws and regulations

Application Steps:

Applicants must:
1. complete the online application form through google forms (link can be found within Program Contact;
2. complete the Tradeshow Support Documents and send to ecdevprograms@gov.mb.ca and use subject line “Corporation Name – EDP application” .

Documentation Needed:

Applicants must submit:
1. business program/agenda outlining activities during trade event (if walking a tradeshow or participating in a business mission). (https://www.gov.mb.ca/jec/busdev/financial/export/forms/edp_program_agenda.pdf)
2. T1 or T2 Tax Return.
3. current balance sheet and income statement (no older than 3 months).
4. Year-end Financial Statement including balance sheet and income statement (for last fiscal year).
