Manitoba Music: Promote Program

Description:

The Promote program is designed to assist Manitoba recording artists to market and promote a completed music recording project. This can include hiring a publicist and/or marketing team, creating a website, advertising as well as content and music video creation.

This program was formerly called the Record Product Marketing Support Program and Music Video and Viral Video Fund.

Comments on Funding:

For applicants with a current Manitoba Film & Music-funded release, Manitoba Film & Music’s financial participation may be up to 50% of the total eligible costs to a maximum of $10,000 per fiscal year (April 1st – March 31st). For applicants without a current Manitoba Film & Music-funded release, Manitoba Film & Music’s financial participation may be up to 50% of the total eligible costs to a maximum of $5,000 per fiscal year.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be:
1. artists who are Manitoba residents. A Manitoba resident means an individual who is legally entitled to be and remain in Canada, is currently a resident of Manitoba and has been for not less than 1 year prior to the date of application. In the case of partnerships, a minimum of 50% of the partnership must meet this residency requirement;
2. at least 18 years of age.

Applicants must submit through Manitoba Film & Music’s new online application portal: https://www.mbfilmmusic.ca/apply

Documentation Needed:

Applicants must submit:
1. Final Cost Report;
2. Final Cost Report Variance Summary;
3. Employment Report;
4. copies of completed promotional material with Manitoba Film & Music Logo;
5. Promo tour report (if applicable);
6. verification of factor/other funding;
7. other documents as required.
