Description:

The Production improvement and processing capacity expansion supports the value-added agri-food processors and manufacturers with equipment modernization activities that will increase efficiency, quality, productivity, and competitiveness. (i.e., the purchase of specialized and/or automated equipment)

Comments on Funding:

Level of Assistance
• Up to 30-50% of eligible costs to a maximum of $50,000 for
projects involving primary producers. The percentage will be at
the discretion of the Department of Agriculture, Aquaculture and
Fisheries based in information submitted during the application
process.
• Up to 25% of the eligible costs to a maximum of $50,000 for
projects involving a processor or manufacturer not involved in
primary agriculture.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be:
1. Indigenous Peoples or Organizations
2. Agriculture producers (individuals or groups) to further process their primary products or value add
3. Abattoirs involved in further processing or value-added
4. Agri-Food processing facilities
5. Agri-Food licensed Commercial Kitchens
6. Agriculture producer associations
7. Academic or research institutions
8. Other individuals or groups capable of achieving program
objectives
9. Resident of the Province of New Brunswick who is at least 19
years of age.
10. Project location is within the Province of New Brunswick
11. Project benefits the Province of New Brunswick
