Description:

The program provides grants to assist in covering some of the operations and projects costs to produce and present literary works.

Comments on Funding:

The objectives of this program are to support the development of a strong publishing industry in New Brunswick, and to encourage excellence and professionalism with regards to book publishing industry professionals, including publishers and writers.

Level of Funding:
The grant is based on the previous year’s grant and on the strength and merit of the application, as assessed by an independent jury.

Deadline:

Applications are closed. Stay tuned for future intake announcements.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be organizations whose principal activity is book publishing and that operate as a Canadian company held and controlled by New Brunswick residents.

Application Steps:

Applicants must:
1. complete the application form and submit all required attachments;
2. submit one copy of each title that they want to have considered for funding through this component;
3. submit the application in electronic format, along with electronic copies of support documentation, via email to culture@gnb.ca or mailed to the Department on a flash drive. Books must be mailed to or dropped off at the Department;
4. acknowledge the support of the Province of New Brunswick in their new eligible publications.

Documentation Needed:

Applicants must submit:
1. the completed application form,
2. one copy of the company’s financial statements for the most recent completed fiscal year,
3. the Financial Summary sheet,
4. their most recent catalogue,
5. their standard contract with authors,
6. their Canada Council application form, if applicable,
7. their documents of incorporation, unless they are already on file with the Department.

Other Things to Note:

Applications must be submitted by May 1st of the request year.
