Sustainability Micro-grants

The Sustainability Micro-grants program supports projects that will contribute to the overall sustainability of the Town. Eligible projects are community-driven and create meaningful impact and community awareness for the goals and actions outlined in the Town’s Sustainability Plan.

Comments on Funding:

Funding is a grant up to 100% of eligible expenses for a project up to a maximum of $2,500.

Deadline: Applications are closed. Stay tuned for future intake announcements.

Applicants must:

  • be Riverview organizations, institutions, students, businesses and residents;
  • propose projects that will:
    a) move toward achieving goals and actions as laid out in the Town’s Sustainability Plan Improve the visibility and knowledge of the Town’s Sustainability Plan;
    b) contribute to actions that foster principles of sustainable development and sustainability principles in decision making;
    c) foster community partnerships and collaboration;
    d) engage community members in fun, meaningful and impactful projects that create an awareness of the importance and value of the Town’s Sustainability Plan.
Application Steps:

Applicants must:

1. submit their application;

2. be available for a review of their application should more details be required.

Documentation Needed:

Applicants must submit:
1. a post-project report;
2. proof of payment.

Other Things to Note:

Applications for 2023 will open on January 1, 2023. The application review process may take upwards of six to eight weeks. Applicants will be contacted by the department of Parks, Recreation & Community Relations.
