Description:

Nova Scotia businesses looking to solve unique challenges by leveraging post-secondary institute research expertise now have another reason to undertake that next research and development project. Invest Nova Scotia, in partnership with Mitacs, will reduce the cost to your business to access collaborative research from post-secondary institutes and faculty supervisors. Each 15-week research project is awarded $15,000. Approved applicants receive a 15-week internship with a Masters or PhD level student to complete a research project aimed at solving a unique business challenge.

Applicants must be:

1. Eligible for-profit and not-for-profit corporations in Nova Scotia
a. Under the Accelerate Entrepreneur initiative, eligible for intern-owned start-ups at approved incubators. Contact accelerate@mitacs.ca to confirm your start-up’s eligibility
b. Not-for-profit corporation eligibility and project economic orientation must be assessed prior to proposal submission
c, All sectors are eligible
