The tour support stream provides an investment for domestic and international tours.

Comments on Funding:

In opening the Tour and Showcase applications, Music Nova Scotia is endeavoring to balance supporting our members’ pursuit of export opportunities while acknowledging that the domestic and international COVID-19 situations vary widely and can change at any time.

While applications are open, Music Nova Scotia reserves the right to withhold funding if the federal or provincial governments issue new or change existing travel restrictions that make the planned project unsafe or untenable. If tours or showcases are canceled as a result of changing COVID-19 restrictions, Music Nova Scotia will not provide funding for canceled projects. Applicants should plan their travel accordingly and ensure flights, accommodations, and other expenses are refundable.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be:

1. Artist II
Must meet all of the following:
a) Updated accomplishments and goals completed in Artist Profile
b) Completed 5 Basic Training sessions
c) For groups, band member agreements are mandatory

Must also meet 3 of the following:

a) Minimum of 500 lifetime units sold of all releases combined (500 streams = 1 unit sold, 6 single downloads = 1 unit sold)
b) Minimum of 3,500 social media followers across all platforms
c) Minimum of 400 Spotify followers or 400 YouTube subscribers
d) Minimum of 30 performances out of province within the past 2 years
d) Song charted on Billboard top 40 within the past 2 years
e) Album/EP charted Top 10 on Earshot Top 50 chart or NACC with the past 2 years
f) $30,000 in gross revenue (excluding grants) within the past 2 years
g) Recognized booking agent (Feldman, APA, Paradigm, Paquin, CAA, WME, ITA. This list is non-exhaustive; please contact the Program Manager if you are an artist who needs this criteria in order to change programs)

Application Steps:

Applicants must:
1. Update their Applicant Profile before submitting an application.
2. Complete and submit a new Applicant Profile form if they do not already have one. Use the appropriate link provided to access the form.
3. Do not create a new Applicant Profile if an existing one has already been created.
4. Contact the Program Manager if they are unsure whether they have an Applicant Profile.

Documentation Needed:

Applicants must submit:

1. A completed application form
2. A detailed Tour Plan – The Applicant must provide details (Tour Plan) on their Goals and Expected Results, including a description of the Tour, the Artist’s commercial history, notable successes, and current opportunities in the Territory being toured, along with confirmation that the Tour Dates have been booked (for example, an itinerary from a booking agent).
