Description:

The Wildlife Damage Mitigation program helps farms protect crop and livestock from wildlife damage to improve industry competitiveness and resilience.

Comments on Funding:

Applicants can apply for a maximum of 50% assistance to the lesser of 10% gross commodity
income, or $15,000 per year for all projects listed within this program.
For example: a farm with gross apple sales of $120,000 would be eligible for a maximum of
$12,000 per year.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be

1. farm or Mi’kmaq conducting farming activities in a Mi’kmaw community.
2. currently and properly registered in the correct income category under the Farm Registration Act
3. have generated an annual eligible gross commodity income of at least $30,000
4. be at least 19 years old and actively farming in the program year
