Description:

NEDC has partnered with New Relationship Trust to offer equity matching contributions to Indigenous entrepreneurs from BC First Nations (including community businesses) to assist with meeting their equity requirements. These NRT Equity Match funds are intended to assist with the support, expansion, or modernization of businesses within BC.

Comments on Funding:

Funding takes the form of non-repayable contributions:
– $7,500 for Indigenous entrepreneurs;
– $25,000 for community businesses.

Eligibility:

Applicants must:
1. be Indigenous entrepreneurs;
2. be community businesses;
3. be established in Vancouver Island.

Application Steps:

Applicants must complete the online loan application form.

Documentation Needed:

Applicants must submit the following:
1. completed loan application;
2. complete NEDC Business Plan Workbook or equivalent;
3. completed the Cash Flow worksheet;
4. completed a Family Budget;
5. have proof of heritage ready (Status card, MNBC card etc);
6. Government issued photo identification;
7. SIN #;
8. Proof of sufficient personal funds to inject into the project/business;
9. resume;
10. any required license or certifications for their industry
business license, if existing business
recent financial statements (3 years preferably), if existing business)
corporate documents, if currently incorporated (including Shareholders listing).
