Description:

The Farm Property Class Tax Rate Program, also known as the “Farm Tax Program,” is one of the ways the province of Ontario supports agriculture. Through the program, farmland owners receive a reduced property tax rate.

Comments on Funding:

Eligible farmland is taxed at no more than 25 per cent of the municipality’s residential property tax rate.

Application Steps:

Applicants must
1. Buy farmland or make a business structure change (changing to or from a sole proprietorship, corporation or partnership) to your farming operation

2. Agricorp sends you an application to determine your property’s eligibility for the next calendar year for the Farm Property Class Tax Rate Program, also known as the “Farm Tax Program.” If you do not receive an application and should have, please contact Agricorp.
