Description:
The IP Fund – Linear Content stream supports Development and Production phases for feature film (drama and documentary) and digital series.
Comments on Funding:
Successful applicants are eligible to receive a non-repayable contribution as follows:
Development
Up to 50% of Ontario spend
$5,000 – minimum request
$25,000 – maximum request
Production – Feature Films
Up to 10% of Ontario spend
dramatic – $400,000 – maximum request
documentary – $200,000 – maximum request
Production – Digital Series
Up to 30% of Ontario Spend
$200,000 – maximum request

Eligibility:
Applicants must be:
1. A production company
2. a Canadian-owned and controlled organization
3. incorporated in Ontario or federally and registered in Ontario and if not incorporated
at time of application, prepared to incorporate immediately if application is successful;
4. Ontario-based1
5. able to demonstrate a principal place of business in Ontario (Ontario-based) if the
company has more than 365 days of operation for at least one year prior to the
deadline;
6. private sector/for profit;
7. in sound financial position (including all associated companies); and
8. in good standing with Ontario Creates.
Application Steps:
Applicants must:
1. Submit applications must be submitted via the Ontario Creates Online Application Portal (OAP).
2. Start the application process well in advance of the deadline in case technical support is required.
3. Prior to starting an application, your company’s corporate information must be registered with the OAP. If your company is not registered, visit https://apply.ontariocreates.ca and select “Register”. If your company is registered, the Ontario Creates IP Fund deadline will appear in your dashboard.
4. Select “Start New Application” and follow the directions to access the application form.
5. If you encounter problems setting up your company’s corporate information, email applyhelp@ontariocreates.ca for assistance. This email address can also be used for any technical questions about the OAP.
